CYA Krik is looking for participants for TC “Improving Access for Young People with Disabilities to European Volunteering Projects”

CYA Krik is looking for participants for TC “Improving Access for Young People with Disabilities to European Volunteering Projects” in Scout Center, Ohrid.

08-12.06.2022 Scout Center, Ohrid

This project aims to address this through developing a simple toolkit to enable organisations to design and implement more inclusive projects. The active engagement of young people with disabilities ensures that their perspectives and experiences will help shape the final product and that the project itself is fully inclusive. Delivered through a partnership of 4 organisations based in the UK, Romania, Italy and North Macedonia and led by International Service, a UK international development organisation, the project brings together an extensive base of disability, youth, volunteering and educational expertise and experience. The core partners are International Service (UK) CYA Krik (North Macedonia), Ferfilo (Italy) and Offensiva Tirenilo (Romania). The key components of the project are: – an initial phase of research – the development of a toolkit for training – testing and finalising this toolkit with youth workers, youth with disabilities and partner staff – delivery of initial training using the toolkit -production and sharing of an on line toolkit for training which supports the development of youth work practice around inclusive volunteering.

Short-term joint staff training “Improving Access for Young People with Disabilities to European Volunteering Projects”

The training will provide the opportunity for one organisation which is not part of the project activities from each country, to take part in and give input to the development of IO2. This value added element will help with the dissemination of IO2 and the relevance of the Toolkit to other organisations not in this project partnership. One of the organisations will be experienced in implementing ESC projects, the other one will not.

The results of this training will be to contribute to: – Finishing the toolkit (IO2). After the youth workers and people with disabilities have tested the methods, they will propose recommendations on things to be changed or updated to maximise quality and impact, – The youth workers, the organisations they take part, and ultimately the wider sector, will have improved capabilities to deliver European volunteering projects which are highly inclusive of people with disabilities.

Participants:

– 2 youth workers (one from the partner organization and one from different organization working on local/national level)

– 1 person with a disability

– 1 support person

The training will be held in the Scout Center Ohrid. The Scout Center in Ohrid is located on the shore of the beautiful Ohrid Lake. Ohrid is a city in North Macedonia, one of the most important historic and natural places with the title of UNESCO world heritage site in both cultural and natural lists.
